Aisles Looping to Cereal with Mark by Frozen Peas

I was in the grocery store by my apartment after work, trying to find my phone in my bag because I thought I’d left it in the cart. The aisles kept looping back to the cereal section. Then I saw Mark standing by the frozen peas, the guy I dated in college who died in that car accident years ago. He looked exactly like he did at 22, but he was wearing the same gray hoodie my current boyfriend leaves on the chair. We talked like it was normal, about missing the bus and being late for dinner. I kept wanting to hold his hand and also feeling guilty, like I was cheating. The store mixed with my old dorm hallway. When I tried to ask if he was really there, he just smiled and said he’d walk me home, but I couldn’t find the exit.
