Searching for the Blue Winter Coat in the Hallways

I was on this urgent mission to find my old blue winter coat, convinced that my car keys and passport were zipped into the lining. I started in my childhood living room, but opening the coat closet led directly into the back hallways of my high school. My old coworker Dave was there acting like a guide, telling me we had to reach the lost-and-found before fourth period or everything would be donated. The corridors kept sloping downward like parking garages, and the tile floor was slick, making me slip backward whenever I tried to sprint. We checked three different gym lockers, ducking under low steam pipes and dodging janitor carts. Every door opened into another basement storage area filled with cardboard boxes. I finally spotted the blue sleeve dangling from the top shelf of a massive shelving unit, but just as I grabbed a ladder to climb up, my alarm went off.
