Silent Train of Ciervos and Black Sand
I dreamt thisAfter missing a silent glass train of ciervos, the dreamer finds their feet turning into roots sinking into the damp black sand.
Silent Train of Ciervos and Black Sand
I was at the train station in my hometown, but the platforms opened directly onto a black sand beach beneath a completely violet sky. I held a ticket in my hand whose destination shifted every few seconds, displaying the names of cities where I lived as a child.
When the train arrived, it made no sound at all; its cars were made entirely of glass, carrying only motionless ciervos that stared intently at me through the windows. I tried to board the last car, but the doors shut right before my foot could touch the step.
At that moment, the train sped toward the sea, churning up massive waves, and as I looked down, I realized my feet had turned into roots sinking slowly into the damp sand.
Scene 1
The concrete concourse of my hometown station dissolves without ceremony, shedding turnstiles and ticket booths until the bare platforms spill out directly onto an endless expanse of damp black sand. Above, the sky burns with a heavy, unbroken violet twilight that casts an unearthly indigo sheen across the dark shoreline.
Clutched in my fingers is a vintage train ticket. Each time I blink, the black typography shifts and rearranges itself, cycling through the names of distant towns and forgotten neighborhoods where I spent my childhood.
