Teal Lockers and Endless Stairs in a Midnight School Dream

I woke up feeling like I’d just missed the bus again. In the dream I was standing in the hallway of my old high school, but the lockers were all the same shade of teal and the stairs kept going down forever. I was late for my chemistry exam and could hear the teacher’s voice echoing, "You have five minutes left." I fumbled for my locker combination, but the numbers kept changing. When I finally opened it, instead of textbooks there was a stack of my college acceptance letters from 2015, all addressed to me, but signed by my sister’s name. I ran to the classroom, only to find the door led to a grocery store aisle with the same fluorescent lights. I tried to push a cart, but the wheels were too heavy, and I kept dropping my phone, which kept ringing with a voicemail from my dad that I’d never left a message for. I was embarrassed, panicked, and then the alarm went off and I was back in my bedroom, heart still racing.
