Two Calendars, Sprint Tickets, and the Kitchen Doors

I was running late for my 9 a.m. standup and took the usual bus, except the route mixed my street with the old office park from my first job. Same seats, same driver, but every stop had two names on the sign at once. I kept checking my phone for the meeting link and it showed two calendars, one where I still worked there and one where I never left home. When I got off, the lobby was our apartment building and the office elevator. I pressed 4 like always. The doors opened on my kitchen, except my partner was also my old manager, talking about sprint tickets while pouring coffee. I felt embarrassed I hadn’t dressed for either place. I tried to apologize and explain I was in the wrong version, but the words came out as both at once. I just wanted to find my keys and get to the right one before everyone noticed.
