Lost in the Service Corridor by the Food Court

I was supposed to meet my sister at the mall, but I took a wrong turn out of the parking garage and ended up in this long service corridor behind the stores. The floor was the same tile as our old high school, which threw me. I kept thinking if I just found the right door I'd come out by the food court, but every door opened onto another hallway or a stockroom with those rolling racks. My phone had no signal. I wasn't panicked, more annoyed and a little curious, like I might as well see where it went. At one point I passed a guy who looked like my old neighbor but didn't say anything, just nodded like he was on his break. Then the corridor sloped down and I could smell the food court, fries and something sweet, and I woke up before I got there, still feeling like I almost had it.
