Secret Doorway Behind the Old Freezer

Secret Doorway Behind the Old Freezer

I was at my parents' house helping my dad clean out the basement, but behind the old freezer, there was a doorway I’d never seen before. It opened into this massive, dim hallway with high ceilings that looked like my middle school, but everything was packed with old furniture and stacked moving boxes. My friend Marcus from college was suddenly walking with me, holding a flashlight. We kept walking further in, turning down side corridors that felt completely unfamiliar and exciting, trying to see how far the building actually went. We found an old cafeteria with the lights humming and rows of vending machines that only took foreign coins. I kept thinking, 'How has this entire wing been under our house the whole time?' We found a heavy metal exit door at the end and pushed it open, but instead of the street, it just led out onto an overgrown gravel path behind a grocery store I used to work at.
