Trapped on the Ancient Subway Platform

Trapped on the Ancient Subway Platform

I was trying to get home from my late shift, but the subway station was completely wrong. The tiled walls were covered in heavy black ivy, and the air smelled like old damp soil. My coworker Sarah was waiting on the platform with me, only her face kept shifting to look like an antique porcelain doll with cracked, hollow eyes, though she was still talking normally about our manager's schedule. Down on the tracks, instead of gravel, there was black stagnant water, and every time the flickering fluorescents buzzed off, I could hear heavy, wet breathing just under the ledge. The train finally pulled up, but it was ancient iron with iron grates instead of windows, and all the passengers inside were just silhouettes staring straight ahead in silence. I realized my metro card had turned into a cold piece of rusted bone, and the conductor wouldn't let me step back onto the platform. I woke up with my heart pounding, feeling like I was still trapped down there.
