I was at my office but it also felt like my old high school hallway, same gray carpet. I was supposed to meet my coworker Dana about a report, except she kept turning into my ex from college when I looked at her face. We were walking toward the conference room and the hall just kept going. I could hear people talking behind a door but I couldn't find the right number. I kept checking my phone for a text that explained what we were even arguing about, only the screen was blank. Someone said I'd left a folder on the bus. I went downstairs to the lobby like I was going to catch it, but it was already dark outside like evening. I felt that tight, embarrassed panic like I'd missed something important and everyone else already knew.
