Footsteps in the Stairwell, Keys in Shopping Basket

I dreamed I was late for work and took the usual bus, except it stopped at my old high school instead of downtown. I went inside looking for the office to explain, but the hallways were the ones from my apartment building, just longer. Every door had a number that didn’t match. I kept checking my phone for the time and it wouldn’t unlock; the screen showed a missed call from my neighbor, except the photo was my old manager. Someone was walking behind me the whole time, same pace, never catching up. I ducked into the stairwell to let them pass and it was empty, just the sound of footsteps on the next landing. When I opened the door again I was in the grocery store by my house, still in my work clothes, holding a shopping basket with my house keys in it. I couldn’t remember if I’d locked the front door. I woke up checking the deadbolt.
