Missing the Cereal Aisle in the Grocery Store

I was at the grocery store after work, the one I always go to, except the parking lot was the lot from my old apartment building. I needed cereal for breakfast and kept missing the aisle. Every time I turned, the layout was almost right but the signs had yesterday’s prices and a different store name mixed in. The cashier at lane three was my coworker from accounting, and also the woman who lived next door in college. She asked if I still wanted the same hours. I couldn’t find my phone to check the list. I felt that anxious confusion like I’d taken the wrong exit and ended up in a version of my life where I never left that job. I finally grabbed a box and it had my name printed on the side, which was embarrassing, so I put it back and walked toward the doors that wouldn’t stay the same distance away.
