Missing Wallet in the Endless Apartment Hallway

I was at the grocery store after work, still in my office clothes, looking for milk. Then I realized my wallet was gone and I kept thinking someone had taken it from my bag on the bus. I went back to the parking lot but it was also the hallway from my old apartment building, longer than it should be, doors on both sides. I kept opening them looking for a security camera or a manager. My neighbor from downstairs was there, except he also felt like my coworker Dave, and he said they already called the police about a break-in. I couldn’t remember if it was my car that had been rummaged through. I was late getting home and kept checking my pockets. When I finally found a receipt it had someone else’s name on it. I woke up still feeling like I’d missed something obvious.
