Rationing Elevators in the Rec Center Hallways

I dreamed I was trying to get to work but the bus never came, so I walked the usual route past the grocery store. The parking lot was empty except for a couple of carts rolling on their own. Inside, the lights were on but the shelves were just dusty boxes of cereal and bottled water. I was in my office clothes plus my old high school jacket, which felt embarrassing. My phone had no signal and the date on the lock screen kept jumping. I ran into my neighbor from two doors down, except she also felt like my old manager, and she asked if I had my keys because they were rationing the elevators. The office building mixed with the rec center from when I was a kid. Hallways stretched. I kept looking for the break room and couldn’t find it. Outside the windows the sky was the color of a power outage. I wasn’t scared exactly, just late and thirsty and annoyed that nobody would tell me what day it was.
