The Coffee Cart with Floating Cups in the Hallway

I dreamed I was late for work again, except the bus stop outside my apartment was also the departure lounge for some huge liner. My manager was there in her usual cardigan, holding a clipboard, saying if I missed this one I’d have to wait three weeks. I couldn’t find my phone or my badge. Everyone else had these little silver pins. An old classmate from high school was sitting next to me on the bench, in a uniform that looked like a flight attendant’s but also like IT support. He kept asking if I’d packed the right charger. The hallway to the gate was just the hallway at my office, only longer, with windows showing stars instead of the parking lot. I was wearing jeans and a hoodie and felt underdressed. We started moving before I sat down. I had this anxious feeling I was supposed to know the route, like I’d done this commute before, and I was relieved when the coffee cart came by even though the cups were floating a little.
