The Envelope Question at the Pharmacy Bus Stop

I was waiting for the last bus after a late shift, same stop by the pharmacy, but the streetlights were all a little too dim. A guy from accounting sat down next to me, except he also felt like my old neighbor from the first apartment. He kept asking if I still had the envelope. I didn’t remember any envelope. My phone was in my coat but the screen only showed a map of our office floor plan, corridors looping. I went back inside the pharmacy to look, and the aisles turned into the hallway outside HR. Someone was typing in an empty cubicle. I found a manila folder with my name, but when I opened it the pages were receipts from the grocery store. I tried to leave and the automatic doors wouldn’t open. Mild dread, like I’d forgotten something important at work and everyone already knew.
