Flipped Apartment and Strange Blue Tiles

Flipped Apartment and Strange Blue Tiles

I was walking back to my apartment after grocery shopping, but when I unlocked the front door, the layout was flipped like a mirror image. The couch was on the opposite wall, and the kitchen tiles were blue instead of grey. My partner came around the corner and smiled, but they were calling me by a totally different name and casually asked how my 'shift at the clinic' went, even though I work in accounting. I set the grocery bags down on the counter and felt this weird creeping dread. When I tried to pull out my phone to check my calendar, the screen had apps I didn't recognize and the date said October instead of May. I tried to explain that something was wrong, that this wasn't how our living room looked, but they just laughed gently and told me I was exhausted from work. I kept looking out the window trying to find a street sign I recognized, but all the shop names below were slightly different.
